Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 0.55%, while the index declined 1.71%, and the index lost 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the were Covestro AG (ETR:), which rose 12.90% or 5.20 points to trade at 45.51 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:) added 1.14% or 2.70 points to end at 238.90 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) was up 0.98% or 1.85 points to 191.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:), which fell 3.24% or 2.32 points to trade at 69.26 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:) declined 3.20% or 1.41 points to end at 42.65 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:) was down 2.48% or 1.30 points to 51.08.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (ETR:) which rose 2.02% to 657.50, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which was up 0.89% to settle at 29.58 and Scout24 AG (ETR:) which gained 0.88% to close at 59.62.
The worst performers were Lanxess AG (ETR:) which was down 15.39% to 26.67 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which lost 5.15% to settle at 34.45 and Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was down 4.98% to 30.53 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which rose 2.35% to 9.67, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which was up 0.89% to settle at 29.58 and Qiagen NV (ETR:) which gained 0.63% to close at 41.85.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 4.34% to 107.00 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 4.12% to settle at 83.70 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 4.05% to 40.23 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 469 to 189 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Covestro AG (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 12.90% or 5.20 to 45.51. Shares in Lanxess AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; down 15.39% or 4.85 to 26.67.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.78% to 14.26.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.16% or 22.95 to $1,948.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.06% or 1.48 to hit $70.45 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.92 to trade at $75.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 102.15.
