Griffin Mining said Thursday that zinc production and ore mined and processed from the Caijiaying mine in China increased in the second quarter of the year.
The London-listed mining company said production of zinc in concentrate rose to 14,130 metric tons in the second quarter from 13,965 tons in the first quarter. On year, production increased by 7% from 13,189 tons.
The amount of ore mined rose 3% on quarter to 366,762 tons, while ore processed climbed 13% to 372,804 tons on quarter.
“With minimal inflation in China, costs are being kept under control as operations expand. Only an increasing commodity price profile would complete the final piece of the puzzle for the returns shareholders expect and deserve,” Chairman Mladen Ninkov said.
