France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.42%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the lost 0.42% to hit a new all time low, while the index lost 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the were Renault SA (EPA:), which rose 2.07% or 0.76 points to trade at 37.49 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (EPA:) added 1.55% or 0.44 points to end at 28.58 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:) was up 0.96% or 0.70 points to 73.48 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:), which fell 3.89% or 0.94 points to trade at 23.22 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) declined 2.14% or 0.51 points to end at 23.50 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:) was down 2.08% or 3.26 points to 153.38.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which rose 3.68% to 28.42, Accor SA (EPA:) which was up 2.29% to settle at 34.84 and Renault SA (EPA:) which gained 2.07% to close at 37.49.

The worst performers were Alstom SA (EPA:) which was down 3.89% to 23.22 in late trade, Vallourec (EPA:) which lost 3.21% to settle at 11.92 and CGG SA (EPA:) which was down 3.13% to 0.73 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 322 to 204 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) rose to all time lows; up 3.68% or 1.01 to 28.42. Shares in Alstom SA (EPA:) fell to all time lows; down 3.89% or 0.94 to 23.22. Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 3.45 to $1,931.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.15% or 0.13 to hit $88.71 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $92.00 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.31.
